My Body – Pregnancy Week 13

Brought to you by
Pregnancy Week 13

Congratulations, you made it to your second trimester! Good news — You should be feeling better soon! The second trimester has a reputation for being the easiest and most comfortable trimester; some even consider it “the honeymoon period.”

Your belly continues to grow, though you may still be too small for maternity clothes. Small bumps may become visible on your breasts. While these small bumps were always around, they become much more noticeable during pregnancy. They are actually an oil-producing gland, called Montgomery tubercles, which help your body to prepare for nursing.

Do you have pain along your abdomen? Your expanding uterus can cause some discomfort, or mild cramping. This is known as round ligament pain, and it may feel like a short or brief stabbing pain along the side of your abdomen. Round ligament pain usually occurs when you shift positions quickly, and usually subsides within a few minutes. Think of it as your body's way of reminding you to slow down! If you experience any pain that is concerning you, or if this pain is accompanied by other symptoms, like bleeding, omitting, or cramping, contact your physician immediately.

I must thank God, because I am 13 and a half weeks, and I havent felt pregnant once! I haven’t had any symptoms other than being tired, but I also work two jobs, go to church 4 times a week, and never get much sleep, so I cant blame the baby for that. Looking forward to the rest of my pregnancy 🙂 Best wishes to you all.

This is baby # 6 for my husband and I. I am showing too fast. I guess that is normal if you have been pregnant before. I have been sick a lot this past week than I ever been through out this trimester. I can’t wait to start feeling my little peanut move. This pregnancy has been excited, and tiredsome. I am so blessed. 🙂

Been having RLP for a while; figured it was just things stretching and growing, but didn’t know what it was called. Still waiting for this "honeymoon trimester" to kick in–I’ve thrown up more in the past week than I did my entire first trimester! I’m really hoping that it’s just a hormone surge and will taper off soon. All worth it, though–can’t wait to be able to feel my little one moving in a few weeks!
